TEAM

I O Design Collaborative uses a team approach, inviting talented individuals and smaller niche firms to participate on collaborative projects.  I O acts as a design broker, seeking cutting-edge projects that require unique solutions, and pairing them with the right professional talent – both in-house staff and sub consultants - to meet project needs.

SUSAN CROOK, ASLA - Susan Crook brings expertise in historic preservation and planting design to IO as the principal in the St. George home office.  The office is located in Paradise Canyon at the edge of the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve in Utah’s Dixie, where the Great Basin, Mojave Desert and Colorado Plateau collide, resulting in the spectacular scenery and amazing biological diversity of Zion National Park, Snow Canyon State Park and the surrounding redrock country of Southern Utah.

SHALAE A. LARSEN - Shalae Larsen is the principal in charge of the Ogden office.  Overseeing projects throughout the Wasatch front, Ms. Larsen’s expertise in urban design allows her to provide innovative solutions to complex projects.  Besides practicing Landscape Architecture as part of IO, Ms. Larsen is currently earning her Master’s in Architecture at the University of Utah.  Her home, and IO’s Ogden-based office is an 1890 Queen Anne Victorian located in the Ogden East Central Bench National Historic District, and is currently undergoing restoration.  In her spare time Shalae is an avid outdoor athlete - skiing, snowboarding, hiking, and mountain biking.
